Representative must be Iranian?
Question:
According to the founder of the Iranian Republic, is it enough to be a model of imitation to be entitled for the governorship of the jurist (Wilayat-ul-Faqih) or is Iranian background required?
Answer:
Ruhullah Al-Khumaini said:
يجب أن يكون الفقيه إيرانيّا فلا يكون من خارج البلد
“It is obligatory (Wajib) that the juridical leader (Faqih) is an Iranian and not from outside the country.” [Qabasat Min Sirat Al-Imam Al-Khumaini, Volume 5 Page 422]
