Answer:

Ali Ibn Ja’far (a.) reported that he asked Imam Al-Kazim (a.): “What is the matter about singing (Ghina’)? Is it okay during the breaking of the fast and the Feast of Sacrifice and for joy?” He said: “It is not a problem as long as it did not lead to the transgression (Isyan).” [Qurb-ul-Isnad of Al-Himyari, page 294 Hadith 1158]

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: “Know that the majority of scholars exclude the camel herder from the prohibition of singing, with some of our scholars prohibiting it because of the weak chain of transmission and just like that, disagreement arose about the singing of a woman in front of other women at the wedding and therefore some believe that it is allowed. However, Ibn Idris and Ibn Yusuf Al-Hilli in his work At-Tadhkirah advocated the prohibition of it, although there is an authentic (mu’tabar) tradition about its permission. The same applies to the lamentation of women at mourning ceremonies, as long as one does not lie. Shaikh Ali, may God bless his soul, mentioned that some scholars allowed the singing of songs on the occasion of the mourning for the master of martyrs (a.), but religious precaution (Ihtiyat) requires the avoidance of all such things due to the appropriate generality in the previous traditions.” [Ain-ul-Hayat, Vol. 1, p. 385.] [Ain-ul-Hayat, Volume 1 Page 385]
