If death did not exist

Hisham Ibn Salim reported that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: “People came to one of their prophets and said: “Call your Lord for us, that He may release us from death.” Then He called (Him) for them and God released them from death. They multiplied until they made the homes narrow and the number of their descendants increased. When a man stood up, he had to feed his father, mother, grandfather and great-grandfather and take care of them and look after them, so that they were busy looking for support.Then they came to the (Prophet) and said: “Ask your Lord to return us to our temporary existence, of which we were in possession.” So he asked his lord and he put them back into their temporary existence.” [Al-Fusul-ul-Muhimmah of Al-Hurr Al-Amili, Volume 1, Page 295, Hadith 1]

عن هشام بن سالم عن الإمام الصادق عليه السلام قال: إن قوما أتوا نبيا لهم فقالوا ادع لنا ربك يرفع عنا الموت فدعا لهم فرفع الله تبارك وتعالى عنهم الموت وكثروا حتى ضاقت بهم المنازل وكثر النسل وكان الرجل يصبح فيحتاج أن يطعم أباه وأمه وجده وجد جده ويوصيهم ويتعاهدهم فشغلوا عن طلب المعاش، فأتوه فقالوا سل ربنا أن يردنا إلى آجالنا التي كنا عليها، فسأل ربه عز وجل فردهم إلى آجالهم
