They insult Aminah

Do the Innovators call the mother of the Prophet (Aminah) an disbeliever?

Answer:

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “The grave you heard me speak to is the grave of Aminah Bint Wahb. I asked my Lord for permission to ask forgiveness for her, but He did not allow me to do so. So He sent down to me the verse: “It is not for the Prophet and those who believe to ask forgiveness for those who worship idols (9:113), even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they will be inmates of the fire of hell.” [Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith 993]

أخبرنا عمران بن موسى بن مجاشع، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن عيسى المصري، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب، قال: حدثنا ابن جريج، عن أيوب بن هانئ، عن مسروق بن الأجدع، عن ابن مسعود عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: إن القبر الذي رأيتموني أناجي قبر آمنة بنت وهب، وإني سألت ربي الاستغفار لها، فلم يأذن لي، فنزل علي: ما كان للنبي والذين آمنوا أن يستغفروا للمشركين

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “I asked my Lord for permission to ask forgiveness for my mother, but He did not allow me to do so. I asked my Lord for permission to visit my mother’s grave and He allowed me to do so.” [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 976]

حدثنا يحيى بن أيوب ومحمد بن عباد واللفظ ليحيى قالا حدثنا مروان بن معاوية عن يزيد يعني ابن كيسان عن أبي حازم عن أبي هريرة قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم استأذنت ربي أن أستغفر لأمي فلم يأذن لي واستأذنته أن أزور قبرها فأذن لي

Yahya Ibn Sharaf An-Nawawi writes: “Concerning the statement of the Messenger (s.): “I asked my Lord for permission to visit my mother’s grave and He allowed me to do so.” Thus, there is the proof that visiting the idolaters is permitted both during their lifetime and after their death.” [Sharh Sahih Muslim, Volume 7 page 45]
