If Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is a true prophet, then God has a true son

Does the founder of the Ahmadiyyah consider himself a true prophet?

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad writes:

ووالله إني أنا المسيح الموعود الذي وعد بمجئه في آخر الزمن وأيام شيوع الضلالة وإن عيسى قد مات وإن مذهب التثليث باطل وإنك تفتري على الله في دعوى النبوة والنبوة قد انقطعت بعد نبينا صلى الله عليه وسلم ولا كتاب بعد الفرقان الذي هو خير الصحف السابقة ولا شريعة بعد الشريعة المحمدية بيد أني سميت نبيا على لسان خير البرية وذلك أمر ظلي من بركات المتابعة وما أرى في نفسي خيرا ووجدت كل ما وجدت من هذه النفس المقدسة وما عنى الله من نبوتي إلا كثرة المكالمة والمخاطبة ولعنة الله على من أراد فوق ذلك أو حسب نفسه شيئا أو أخرج عنقه من الربقة النبوية وإن رسولنا خاتم النبيين وعليه انقطعت سلسلة المرسلين فليس حق أحد أن يدعي النبوة بعد رسولنا المصطفى على الطريق المستقلة وما بقي بعده إلا كثرة المكالمة وهو بشرط الاتباع لا بغير متابعة خير البرية ووالله ما حصل لي هذا المقام إلا من أنوار اتباع الأشعة المصطفوية وسميت نبيا من الله على طريق المجاز لا على وجه الحقيقة

“By God, i am the Promised Messiah, who was foretold for the end times and the days of spreading of heresies. Jesus (a.) has died and the Trinity is false and you are lying about God when you claim to be a prophet. Prophethood has been ended after Muhammad (s.) and there is no book after the Qur’an which is the best of the previous books and there is no law after the Law of Muhammad (s.). Nevertheless, i was called a prophet by Muhammad (s.) and that is through the blessing of his obedience a shady matter. I see nothing good in me and everything that i discovered i have discovered it through Muhammad (s.) and God meant nothing else with my prophethood except for constant talking and addressing and God curses anyone who means more than that or thinks he is something or pulls his head out of the loop of prophethood. Muhammad (s.) is the seal of the prophets and with him the series of messengers (a.) was ended. Therefore, after Muhammad (s.), no one has the right to claim to be an independent Prophet, and after him nothing was left except for constant talking, and that on the condition of obeying and not without obeying Muhammad (s.). By God, i did not attain this position except by following Muhammad (s.) and God metaphorically called me a prophet and not in the true sense.” [Al-Istifta’, page 86]

وجعلني خليفة آخر الزمان وإمام هذا الأوان وكلمني بكلمات نذكر شيئا في هذا المقام ونؤمن بها كما نؤمن بكتاب الله خالق الأنام وهي هذه … أنت مني بمنزلة ولدي … سبحان الله وتعالى أن يكون له ولد ولكن هذا استعارة كمثل قوله تعالى فاذكروا الله كذكركم آباءكم والاستعارات كثيرة في القرآن ولا اعتراض عليها عند أهل العلم والعرفان فهذا القول ليس بقول منكر وتجد نظائره في الكتب الإلهية وأقوال قوم روحانيين يسمون بالصوفية فلا تعجلوا علينا يا أهل الفطنة

“God made me the successor (Khalifah) of the end of times and the Imam of this era and He has addressed words to me that we quote here and that we believe in as we believe in the Qur’an and these are the following: … “You are with Me at the level of My Son…” … God is absolved of having a son, but this is metaphorical, like the verse: “Remember God as you remember your fathers.” (2:200) There are many metaphors in the Qur’an and the people who know and are versed do not deny it. So this statement is not reprehensible and similar to this one can be found in the divine writings and words of spiritual persons called mystics (Sufis), so do not judge me too hastily, O reasonable people!” [Al-Istifta’, pages 102 + 107]

Comment:

If the Son of God is a metaphor and God has no son, then the prophethood is also a metaphor and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is no prophet.
