Mu’awiyah died as a disbeliever

Question:

Are there reports that Mu’awiyah will die as an disbeliever?

Answer:

Jabir Ibn Abdillah reported that the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “Mu’awiyah will die with a religion other than mine.” [Sharh-ul-Akhbar by Al-Qadi Al-Maghribi, Volume 2 Page 153 Hadith 467]

حسن بن حسين، باسناده، عن جابر بن عبد الله، أنه قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله يقول: يموت معاوية على غير ملتي

Tawus Ibn Kaisan reported that Abdullah Ibn Amr said: “I was with the Prophet Muhammad (s.) when he said: “From this mountain pass comes a man to you who dies with a religion other than mine. I left my father. He laid down something for the prayer washing. I was like someone holding back urine for fear that he would come. Then Mu’awiyah came, whereupon the Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: “This is the one!” [Ansab-ul-Ashraf of Al-Baladhuri, Hadith 1516]

وحدثني إسحاق، وبكر بن الهيثم، قالا: حدثنا عبد الرازق بن همام، أنبأنا معمر، عن ابن طاوس، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص، قال: كنت عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يطلع عليكم من هذا الفج رجل يموت على غير ملتي قال: وكنت تركت أبي قد وضع له وضوء، فكنت كحابس البول مخافة أن يجيء قال: فطلع معاوية، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: هو هذا
