You are the best of Imams (3:110)

Ali Ibn Ibrahim reported from Ibrahim Ibn Hashim that Ibn Abi Abdillah recited the following for Imam As-Sadiq (a.):“You are the best community (Ummah).” (3:110) Then Imam As-Sadiq (a.) asked: “Do the best community kill Imam Ali (a.), Al-Hasan (a.) and Al-Husain (a.)?” And the reciter said: “May I be sacrificed to you, how did God reveal it?” Imam As-Sadiq (a.) replied: “He revealed it like this: “You are the best Imams (Aimmah) ever brought forth among men.” Do you not see how God praises them: “You enjoin what is right and forbid what is reprehensible and believe in God.” Hammad Ibn Isa reported from some of his companions that Imam Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) regarding the recitation of Ali (a.): “You are the best Imams (Aimmah) ever produced among men.” Afterwards it said: “This is concerning the family of Muhammad (s.).” [Bihar-ul-Anwar of Al-Majlisi, volume 24, page 154, hadith 6; Tafsir-ul-Ayyashi, volume 1, page 195, hadith 128]
