Question: Which liars are meant by the 49th and 50th verses of the 4th chapter “An-Nisa’”? Response:

Ash-Sharif Al-Murtada writes: قُـلْـتُ فَـإِنِّـي لَا أَزَالُ أَسْـمَـعُ الْـمُـعْـتَـزِلَـةَ يَـدَّعُـونَ عَـلَـى أَسْـلَافِـنَـا أَنَّـهُـمْ كَـانُـوا كُـلُّـهُـمْ مُـشَـبِّـهَـةً وَأَسْـمَـعُ الْـمُـشَـبِّـهَـةَ مِـنَ الْـعَـامَّـةِ يُـقُـولُـونَ مِـثْـلَ ذَلِـكَ وَأَرَى جَـمَـاعَـةً مِـنْ أَصْـحَـابِ الْـحَـدِيـثِ مِـنَ الْإِمَـامِـيَّـةِ يُـطَـابِـقُـونَـهُـمْ عَـلَـى هَـذِهِ الْـحِـكَـايَـةِ وَيَـقُـولُـونَ إِنَّ نَـفْـيَ الـتَّـشْـبِـيـهِ إِنَّـمَـا أَخَـذْنَـاهُ مِـنَ الْـمُـعْـتَـزِلَـةِ فَـأُحِـبُّ أَنْ تَـرْوِيَ لِـي حَـدِيـثًـا يُـبْـطِـلُ ذَلِـكَ ,,I said: ,,Unceasingly I hear the Mu’tazilah claiming about our ancestors that they were all anthropomorphists and I hear the anthropomorphists among the general public saying the same and I see that a crowd of the traditionalists from the Imamites agree with them and say that we merely adopted the negation…

Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.) reported that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said:

Qur’an: “God said: “Do not take for yourselves two gods. He is but one God, so fear Me!” [An-Nahl 16:51] وقال الله لا تتخذوا إلهين اثنين إنما هو إله واحد فإياي فارهبون

“You do not let the dead hear and you do not let the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs.” [Ar-Rum 30:52] إنك لا تسمع الموتى ولا تسمع الصم الدعاء إذا ولوا مدبرين
