Fatimah provides security on the earth, just as the stars provide security in the heaven

Muhammad ibn Ibrahim wrote to Imam As-Sadiq (a.):,,Teach me about the merit of you people of the House.” Whereupon Abu Abdillah (As-Sadiq) wrote to him: ,,The stars in the heaven were made, to provide security for the inhabitants of the heavens. So if the stars in the heavens disappear, then what is threatened to them befalls the inhabitants of the heavens and the Messenger of God (s.) said: ﴾The people of my house were made, to provide for the security of my nation. So if the people of my house disappear, then that, which is threatened upon them, will befall my nation.﴿” [Al-Ikmal of As-Saduq, Volume 1, Page 233, Hadith 17]

علي بن الحسين عن عبد الله بن جعفر الحميري، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن فضالة بن أيوب، عن داود، عن فضيل الرسان عن محمد بن إبراهيم عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليه السلام أنه كتب إليه: أخبرنا ما فضلكم أهل البيت فكتب إليه أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: إن الكواكب جعلت في السماء أمانا لأهل السماء، فإذا ذهبت نجوم السماء جاء أهل السماء ما كانوا يوعدون، وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: جعل أهل بيتي أمانا لامتي فإذا ذهب أهل بيتي جاء أمتي ما كانوا يوعدون

Ali Ibn Husain (a.) reported, that Umm Salamah said: ,,This verse (33:33) was sent down in my house and on my day. When the Messenger of God (s.) was staying with me, he called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husain to him and Gabriel (a.) arrived. Hereupon he put a Fadakite cloak on them. Then he said: ﴾God, these are the people of my house. God, keep the blemish away from them and keep them perfectly pure.﴿” [Al-Amali of At-Tusi, page 368, Hadith 34]

هلال بن محمد الحفار عن إسماعيل بن علي الدعبلي عن علي بن علي الخزاعي عن علي بن موسى عن موسى بن جعفر عن جعفر بن محمد عن محمد بن علي عن علي بن الحسين زين العابدين عليه السلام عن أم سلمة قالت: نزلت هذه الآية في بيتي وفي يومي، كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله عندي فدعا عليا وفاطمة والحسن والحسين عليه السلام وجاء جبرئيل عليه السلام فمد عليهم كساء فدكيا، ثم قال: اللهم هؤلاء أهل بيتي اللهم أذهب عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيرا

Jabir ibn Yazid reported, that he asked Imam al-Baqir (a.): ,,Why does one need a Prophet and a Leader?” To which he said: ,,To keep the world in order and that is, because God refrains from punishing the inhabitants of the earth, when there is a prophet or a leader on it. God said: ﴾But God would never punish them, as long as you dwell among them.﴿ (8:33) And the Prophet (s.) said: ﴾The stars provide security for the inhabitants of the heaven and the people of my house provide security for the inhabitants of the earth. So when the stars disappear, the inhabitants of the heavens are inflicted, with what is abhorrent to them and when the people of my house disappear, the inhabitants of the earth are inflicted, with what is abhorrent to them.﴿ He means by the people of His Household the leaders, in whom God tied the obedience to them, to obedience to Him, whereupon He said: ﴾O you who believe, obey God and obey the Messenger and the commanders from among you.﴿ (4:59) And they are the purely kept infallibles who commit neither a sin nor disobedience and they are the ones, who receive support, who are helped to succeed and who are guided. Through them, God provides for His servants, through them He revives His localities, through them He causes the rain to come down from heaven, through them He brings forth the blessings of the earth and through them He spares the disobedient people and does not let the punishment and chastisement fall upon them quickly. The Holy Spirit does not separate from them and they do not separate from it and they do not separate from the Qur’an and it does not separate from them. God bless them all.” [Al-Ilal of As-Saduq, Volume 1, Page 124, Hadith 1]

محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق عن عبد العزيز بن يحيى عن المغيرة بن محمد عن رجاء بن سلمة عن عمرو عن جابر بن يزيد عن محمد بن علي الباقر عليه السلام أنه سأله: لأي شيء يحتاج إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وآله والامام فقال لبقاء العالم على صلاحه وذلك أن الله عز وجل يرفع العذاب عن أهل الأرض إذا كان فيها نبي أو أمام قال الله عز وجل وما كان الله ليعذبهم وأنت فيهم وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وآله النجوم أمان لأهل السماء وأهل بيتي أمان لأهل الأرض فإذا ذهبت النجوم أتى أهل السماء ما يكرهون وإذا ذهب أهل بيتي أتى أهل الأرض ما يكرهون يعني باهل بيته الأئمة الذين قرن الله عز وجل طاعتهم بطاعته فقال يا أيها الذين آمنوا أطيعوا الله وأطيعوا الرسول وأولي الأمر منكم وهم المعصومون المطهرون الذين لا يذنبون ولا يعصون وهم المؤيدون الموفقون المسددون بهم يرزق الله عباده وبهم تعمر بلاده وبهم ينزل القطر من السماء وبهم يخرج بركات الأرض وبهم يمهل أهل المعاصي ولا يعجل عليهم بالعقوبة والعذاب لا يفارقهم روح القدس ولا يفارقونه ولا يفارقون القرآن ولا يفارقهم صلوات الله عليهم أجمعين

Abu Basir reported, that Imam As-Sadiq (a.) said: ,,Now if the Messenger of God (s.) had kept silent and not clarified, who the people of His House are, then the family of so-and-so and the family of so-and-so would have claimed it, but God sent it down in His Scripture as a confirmation for His Prophet (s. ): ﴾God only wants to keep the blemish away from you, o people of the House and keep you perfectly pure.﴿ (33:33) So they were Ali, Hasan, Husain and Fatimah (a.). So the Messenger of God (s.) took them under the cloak in the house of Umm Salamah. Hereupon he said: ﴾God, every prophet has a people and a weight and these are the people of my house and my weight.﴿” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 1, Page 287, Hadith 1]

علي بن إبراهيم، عن محمد بن عيسى، عن يونس وعلي بن محمد، عن سهل ابن زياد أبي سعيد، عن محمد بن عيسى، عن يونس، عن ابن مسكان، عن أبي بصير عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليه السلام قال: فلو سكت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله فلم يبين من أهل بيته، لادعاها آل فلان وآل فلان، لكن الله عز وجل أنزله في كتابه تصديقا لنبيه صلى الله عليه وآله إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس أهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا فكان علي والحسن والحسين وفاطمة عليهم السلام فأدخلهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله تحت الكساء في بيت أم سلمة، ثم قال: اللهم إن لكل نبي أهلا وثقلا وهؤلاء أهل بيتي وثقلي

Jabir ibn Abdillah reported, that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: ,,The stars provide security for the inhabitants of the heavens and the people of my house provide security for my nation, because if the stars disappear, then the inhabitants of the heavens disappear and if the people of my house disappear, then the inhabitants of the earth disappear.” [Al-Amali of At-Tusi, page 379, Hadith 63]

الحفار عن إسماعيل بن علي الدعبلي عن أبيه عن أخي دعبل عن حفص بن غياث عن أبيه عن جابر بن عبد الله عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: النجوم أمان لأهل السماء، وأهل بيتي أمان لأمتي، فإذا ذهبت النجوم ذهب أهل السماء، وإذا ذهب أهل بيتي ذهب أهل الأرض

Sa’d ibn Malik reported, that Imam Ali (a.) said: ,,This nation has twelve right guiding leaders from the progeny of their Prophet (s.) and they belong to me.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Volume 1, Page 532, Hadith 8]

محمد بن يحيى، عن محمد بن الحسين، عن مسعدة بن زياد، عن أبي عبد الله ومحمد بن الحسين، عن إبراهيم، عن أبي يحيى المدائني، عن أبي هارون العبدي، عن أبي سعيد الخدري عن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام: إن لهذه الأمة اثني عشر إمام هدى من ذرية نبيها وهم مني

Muhammad ibn Fudail reported, that he asked Imam Ar-Rida (a.): ,,Would the earth remain if there is no leader on it?” To which he said: ,,No, it would then certainly perish with its inhabitants.” [Al-Uyun of As-Saduq, Vol. 2, page 246, Hadith 1]

محمد بن علي عن علي بن الحسين عن عن سعد، عن ابن عيسى، وعلي بن إسماعيل بن عيسى عن ابن معروف، عن علي بن مهزيار، عن محمد بن القاسم عن محمد بن الفضيل عن علي بن موسى الرضا عليه السلام قال قلت له: تكون الأرض ولا إمام فيها فقال عليه السلام: لا إذا لساخت بأهلها

Muhammad Al-Baqir (a.) reported, that Prophet Muhammad (s.) said: ,,I and twelve from my progeny and you, O Ali, are the fortification of the earth, its pegs and mountains. Through us, God fortified the earth so that it would not perish with its inhabitants. So if the twelve from my progeny disappear, the earth will perish with its inhabitants and they will not be given respite.” [Al-Kafi of Al-Kulaini, Vol. 1, page 534, Hadith 17]

محمد بن يحيى عن محمد بن أحمد عن محمد بن الحسين، عن أبي سعيد العصفوري عن عمرو بن ثابت عن زياد بن المنذر عن محمد بن علي الباقر عليه السلام عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله قال: إني واثني عشر من ولدي وأنت يا علي زر الأرض يعني أوتادها وجبالها، بنا أوتد الله الأرض أن تسيخ بأهلها، فإذا ذهب الاثنا عشر من ولدي ساخت الأرض بأهلها ولم ينظروا

Muhammad Salih Al-Mazandarani writes: ,,By his statement ﴾and twelve from my progeny﴿ are meant with Fatimah (a.) included.” [Sharh-ul-Usul, Volume 7, page 380]

قال الشيخ محمد صالح المازندراني: قوله واثنا عشر من ولدي هم اثنا عشر مع فاطمة عليهما السلام

Muhammad Baqir Al-Majlisi writes: ,,By his statement ﴾and twelve﴿ are meant Fatimah (a.) and eleven from her progeny (a.).” [Mir’at-ul-Uqul, volume 6, page 232]

قال الشيخ محمد باقر المجلسي: قوله واثني عشر أي فاطمة عليها‌السلام وأحد عشر من ولدها

Thabit ibn Dinar reported, that he asked Imam As-Sadiq (a.): ,,Will the earth remain without a leader?” He said: ,,If it were to remain without a leader, then it would have perished.” [Al-Basa’ir of As-Saffar, page 508, page 2]

محمد بن عيسى عن محمد بن الفضيل عن ثابت بن دينار عن جعفر بن محمد الصادق عليه السلام أنه سأله: تبقى الأرض بغير امام قال لو بقيت الأرض بغير امام لساخت

Muhammad Al-Baqir (a.) reported, that Imam Zain-ul-Abidin (a.) said: ,,We are the leaders of the submitting, the proofs of God to the worlds, the masters of the believers, the chiefs of the unprecedentedly Radiant, and the commanders of the believers. We provide for the safety of the inhabitants of the earth, as the stars provide for the safety of the inhabitants of the heavens and we are the ones, through whom God keeps the heavens from falling to the earth except by His permission and through us, the earth is spared from swaying with its inhabitants. Through us, He causes the rain to come down, through us, He spreads out the grace and through us, He brings forth the blessings of the earth. If none of us were on earth, then it would perish with its inhabitants.” [Al-Amali of As-Saduq, page 253, Hadith 15]

محمد بن أحمد السناني أحمد بن يحيى بن زكريا القطان عن بكر بن عبد الله بن حبيب عن الفضل بن الصقر العبدي عن أبي معاوية عن سليمان بن مهران الأعمش عن جعفر بن محمد عن محمد بن علي عن علي بن الحسين زين العابدين عليه السلام قال: نحن أئمة المسلمين، وحجج الله على العالمين، وسادة المؤمنين، وقادة الغر المحجلين، وموالي المؤمنين، ونحن أمان أهل الأرض كما أن النجوم أمان لأهل السماء، ونحن الذين بنا يمسك الله السماء أن تقع على الأرض إلا بإذنه، وبنا يمسك الأرض أن تميد بأهلها، وبنا ينزل الغيث، وبنا ينشر الرحمة، ويخرج بركات الأرض، ولولا ما في الأرض منا لساخت بأهلها

Thabit ibn Dinar reported, that Imam Al-Baqir (a.) said: ,,If the earth were to be left without a leader one day, then it would perish with its inhabitants and God would chastise them with the severest punishment. God made us the evidences on His earth and a security for the earth. They would remain safe, from the earth perishing with them, as long as we were among them and if God wished to destroy them and not spare them and not give them a respite, God would take us away from them and lift us up. After that, God does what He wills and likes.” [Al-Ikmal of As-Saduq, Volume 1, Page 232, Hadith 14]

علي بن الحسين ومحمد بن الحسن بن الوليد عن عبد الله بن جعفر عن محمد بن أحمد عن أبي سعيد العصفري عن عمرو بن ثابت عن ثابت بن دينار عن محمد بن علي الباقر علي السلام قال: لو بقيت الأرض يوما بلا إمام منا لساخت بأهلها ولعذبهم الله بأشد عذابه، أن الله تبارك وتعالى جعلنا حجة في أرضه، وأمانا في الأرض لأهل الأرض لن يزالوا في أمان من أن تسيخ بهم الأرض ما دمنا بين أظهرهم، وإذا أراد الله أن يهلكهم ولا يمهلهم ولا ينظرهم ذهب بنا من بينهم ورفعنا الله، ثم يفعل الله ما يشاء وأحب
